The MIBK extraction for the separation of elements in tantalite is given in Table 2. The results from the selective extraction of Ta and Nb from the mineral matrix using MIBK are given in Fig. 1 . The analytical results showed that 99.3(4)% Ta were recovered from the organic portion while only 0.79(5)% of the Nb was present in the MIBK.
