Quarrying of Stones: Methods, Site Selection & Preparation
This method consists of using explosives for breaking stones from very hard rocks. It has been observed that quarrying of granites, basalts, traps, quartzites, and sandstones by wedging and other methods is very laborious and costly. These hard rocks, however, can be loosened economically and easily by using explosives.
