ResultIt suggests that ilmenite (FeOTiO 2), leucoxene (a mixture of rutile and pseudorutile), and rutile (TiO 2) are dominant heavy minerals in coastal placer deposits of Sri Lanka (Fig. 4). Interestingly, SiO 2 contents of almost all of these deposits are depleted in comparison to UCC values (Fig. 4).
