Let it soak 30-45 minutes. If you have alpaca, lift out the fiber if you can (we usually put it in bags) so that the dirt stays at the bottom. Leaving the lid open so it doesn't spin, drain all the water and clean it out. Then put the fiber back in and spin the water out of it. Wash again if you have a greasy fleece.
