Carbothermic reduction roasting for processing of ferruginous chromite
The amenability of the carbothermic reduction roasting process for the low-grade ferruginous chromite ore was studied through conventional heating as well as under microwave radiation. It is found that a concentrate assaying 53.8%Cr 2 O 3 with a Cr-to-Fe ratio of 2.89 was obtained from a feed assaying 32.8%Cr 2 O 3 with a Cr-to-Fe ratio of 1.01.
